At the 2024 Pool Nation Awards, when they announced Lauren Broom as the 2024 Pool Nation Trainer of the Year, the entire room of 500+ stood and erupted in applause to celebrate her.

About Lauren Broom - CEO of Space Coast Pool School

Lauren Broom is a certified instructor through the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance® and also teaches the Certified Pool Operator (CPO)® Course, in-person and virtual through her company, Space Coast Pool School. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from the University of Central Florida. Lauren is also a Registered Sanitarian with 19 years of experience inspecting commercial pools in Florida and investigating recreational waterborne disease outbreaks.

As a CPO Instructor, Lauren participates in several PHTA Committees and Councils and has received multiple awards, including the 2024 Pool Nation Trainer of the Year. She has been an adjunct instructor at Valencia College for the past five years, teaching the CPO® Course as part of their Residential Maintenance Technician certification.

Lauren writes a monthly column for Service Industry News and started as the official CPO Instructor for California's Pool & Spa Apprenticeship Program in 2021. She is also an authorized OSHA trainer for OSHA 10 & OSHA 30 courses, aiming to improve safety and health in the aquatic industry. Through her teaching, Lauren emphasizes the importance of maintaining swimming pool facilities for the health and safety of patrons.
